Executive Summary

Secunda and Sasolburg are high-emitting and inextricably interconnected industrial facilities that deliver systemically important products to the South African economy, mostly in the transport and chemicals space.

This project considers the challenge of decarbonizing the two facilities and their value chains, providing a structured way for decision-makers to engage with the challenge, one that is inclusive of multiple knowledge dimensions and perspectives and which foregrounds current realities and future uncertainties.
